HOW TO CARE

At soodesign, sustainability is more than a concept—it’s woven into every choice we make, from how our silk is crafted to how it’s meant to be lived with. Each piece is designed to last, to keep its natural softness, luster, and comfort for years to come. With mindful care, silk doesn’t just endure—it grows more beautiful over time. That means fewer replacements, less waste, and a lighter footprint. Often it’s the small rituals—washing, storing, handling—that create a more thoughtful way of living. To care is to cherish what we choose to keep close.

🧺 WASH THE RIGHT WAY

  • Use cool water (under 35°C).
  • Add a gentle, silk-friendly detergent.
  • Submerge the piece and press lightly—avoid scrubbing or twisting.
  • Swish gently, then rinse thoroughly with clean, cool water.
  • Press out excess water softly, never wring.
  • Turn inside out and hang in the shade to dry naturally.

🔌 IRON THE RIGHT WAY

  • Always iron inside out to protect the fabric’s surface.
  • Set iron to the lowest heat (“Silk” or max 110°C / 230°F).
  • Place a cloth between silk and iron as a barrier.
  • Iron while slightly damp, or mist lightly—never iron when completely dry.
  • Skip direct steam to avoid water marks.
  • Move smoothly, applying light pressure.

🚫 AVOID THESE

  • Washing silk together with other fabrics.
  • Heat exposure (hot water, tumble dry, or high iron settings).
  • Harsh detergents with alkali or enzymes.
  • Wearing silk immediately after showering.
  • Hanging silk on sharp hooks or thin hangers.
  • Spraying perfume or deodorant directly on silk.
